Shenandoah Telecommunications Company announced that at its July 18, 2016 meeting, its Board of Directors elected Leigh Ann Schultz to serve as a Director of the corporation.

Ms. Schultz is currently Managing Director for MorganFranklin Consulting, a strategy and execution-focused business consulting firm which she joined in 2014.  Ms. Schultz’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, acquisition integration, SEC reporting and compliance, business process improvement, and project management.

From 2012 through 2014, she was Mid-Atlantic Managing Director of Riveron Consulting, a mergers and acquisition advisory firm.  She worked with private equity funds and strategic acquirers, as well as with selling companies seeking to maximize the value of business transactions.  From 2010 through 2012, Ms. Schultz served in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissions’ Division of Corporation Finance, where she focused on the telecommunications sector, among others.  Her responsibilities included examining complex filings made under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, providing guidance on financial statement disclosure requirements and resolving accounting and disclosure issues arising in filings.

Previously, she was Director of Financial Advisory Services at AlixPartners and Assistant Controller at TXU Communications.  Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President, Controller and Corporate Secretary at Logix Communications, as well as Assistant Controller at Dobson Communications and Senior at Ernst & Young.  Ms. Schultz was the recipient of the 2015 SmartCEO Brava! Award and was a recipient of the 2013 M&A Advisor’s 40 Under 40 Recognition Award.  She serves numerous charitable, community and industry associations, and resides with her family in Alexandria, Virginia.

“We are very pleased to have Leigh Ann join our board,” said Christopher E. French, President and CEO of Shentel.  “Her extensive experience in our dynamic and rapidly changing industry along with her expertise in finance and accounting make her a great addition to our board.”
