Shentel Holds Grand Opening Celebration of New Store at Tyler Square in Radford, Va.

Event to feature food, local dignitaries, giveaways and a grand prize drawing for a flat screen TV

Edinburg, Va. – Feb. 17, 2011 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of telephone, Internet and cable television services, invites all Radford, Va., residents to a grand opening celebration of its new store location. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 4, at 1200 Tyler Ave. in Tyler Square.

Shentel’s grand opening celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. that will include members of the area chambers, councils and local dignitaries. Starting at 11 a.m., there will be food, a live radio broadcast, giveaways and prizes. The event will conclude with a grand-prize drawing for at 28-inch Hanspree flat-screen HDTV.

Since acquiring JetBroadband in July 2010, Shentel has been Radford’s local cable provider. The new retail store in Radford is much more convenient for customers and visitors to sample and subscribe to Shentel’s latest offerings in cable, Internet and Home Phone technology. Current customers can pay their bills, pick up and return set top boxes, or stop by and ask questions of the helpful staff. The Radford store is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
