Shenandoah Telecommunications Corporation (SHENTEL; NASDAQ: SHEN) has announced that it has joined the Corporate Alliance Program of the Society of Cable Television Engineers (SCTE).
Shentel has been added to a short list of leading cable operators who have teamed up to address industry issues, develop solutions and prepare for emerging technologies while taking advantage of the training and education available through SCTE and its chapters.
“Shentel employee membership and participation in SCTE has always been strong,” said Tom Whitaker, VP Shentel Cable. “SCTE represents the gold standard in technology training for our industry. Working with SCTE to provide our technicians with the most current training and certifications ensures our customers the best possible service experience.”
He noted that the pace of innovation in the cable industry makes technical training a real challenge. “This CAP agreement with SCTE provides a path for Shentel to stay ahead of our technical training needs.”
“Shentel has a long track record of anticipating customer demand, embracing technological change and achieving the operational excellence needed to maintain its competitive advantage,” said Lindsay Johnston, SVP Operations for SCTE. “We look forward to Shentel’s input as a Corporate Alliance Program member as we continue to shape SCTE training and certifications to meet the needs of our rapidly evolving industry.”
Conceived as a true strategic partnership between corporate members and SCTE, the Corporate Alliance Program includes a wide variety of opportunities for all constituencies of all sizes to include the training roadmap from the executive to the field level and to leverage the work of other CAP partners.
