Shentel hosts free seminar on Internet security

Posted 19 March 2013 12:00 AM by Shentel

WYTHEVILLE - Protecting Your Business: Internet Security is the topic of a free business seminar hosted by Shentel Business Solutions Tuesday, March 26 at the Wytheville Meeting Center in the multipurpose room.

The guest speaker is Scott Crow of Advanced Network Systems. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the seminar will begin at 5:30. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

Security is an important topic for all business owners, but especially for small and mid-sized businesses with limited IT resources. Crow has been in the IT field for 18 years and his focus has been on developing stable, flexible and secure voice and data networks. He has consulted with organizations in business, government and education.

“The seminar is an opportunity for local businesses to learn and ask questions,” said Marc Williams, manager of Shentel Business Solutions. “Security is certainly a big concern these days and sometimes the smaller businesses just don’t know who to go to for information. We think this seminar is ideal for them.”

Shentel Business Solutions serves the Wythe County area and helps local businesses stay connected to their customers and vendors in today’s competitive market. Representatives from Shentel will be present. For questions or to RSVP, please call Doris Kidd at 540-984-5448. Reservations are requested, but are not necessary.
