Shentel, a member of the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association, invites high school seniors to apply for the annual VCTA scholarship which recognizes Virginia’s future leaders.

The Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship Program, now in its 13th year, is an education initiative of the Virginia cable industry. This year, $100,000 will be awarded to outstanding Virginia students who will be attending college or university in the Commonwealth. The scholarship is a one-time award and is open to all students attending an undergraduate 2- or 4-year program at a Virginia institution of higher learning for the 2013-2014 academic years.

Applications should be available at local high schools or by visiting the VCTA website at www.vcta.com or by calling (804)780-1776 for application & rules. Please follow all instructions carefully.

All entries must be postmarked by April 25, 2013.

The VCTA, established in 1966, serves as the trade association for the cable telecommunications industry in Virginia.  Association membership is comprised of cable systems serving more than 2 million subscribers in Virginia along with over 100 Associate members who provide goods and services to the cable telecommunications industry.  The VCTA’s mission is to support broadband and telecommunications services of member companies to the business community and state officials.
