‘Shentel Under the Starz’ comes to Summersville

Shentel is excited to bring Shentel Under the Stars to Summersville, WV, on Friday, July 28, at the Veterans Memorial Park.
Shentel, a local provider of phone, TV and high-speed Internet, has offered this free, family night of entertainment in conjunction with the county park for several years. “We enjoy partnering with communities in a way that gives families an affordable, enjoyable evening of entertainment,” said Marketing Manager Angela Washington.
The movie this summer is the family-friendly animated film, “The Lorax,” based on the Dr. Suess children’s book of the same name. Voicing the character s are popular actors Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, Betty White and Taylor Swift.
The movie will be shown outdoors on a giant movie screen. Those planning to attend should bring a blanket or lawn chairs or maybe even a picnic dinner. The movie will begin at dusk.
“There will be no admission charged,” said Washington, “and we are going to provide drinks and popcorn. What’s a movie without popcorn, after all?”
The movie will not be shown in the event of inclement weather. There is no rain date.
