Shentel is looking forward to participating in the annual Lakefest celebration in Clarksville on Saturday, July 20.
Look for the blue and orange Shentel tent and stop in to talk to Shentel staff and register for prizes.
“We enjoy participating in community events,” said Angela Washington, marketing manager, Shentel. “It gives us a chance to support the communities we serve. We hope our customers will drop by and, of course, we can answer any questions anyone might have about Shentel services.”
The event begins on Thursday with tethered hot air balloon rides at the Lake Country Business Park on Noblin Farm Road. Food will be available and children 12 and under can ride free. This takes place from 6 to 11 p.m.
On Friday, the sand sculpture competition will be held on Virginia Avenue and 4th Street. The welcoming ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. The winner of the Lakefest Idol competition will sing first and be followed by JB and the Get Down Browns.
Saturday is the big day of the festival with the 5K kicking things off at 8 a.m. Throughout the day festival-goers can enjoy the juried arts and crafts show, children’s rides and games, helicopter rides, exhibits, food vendors, an antique car show and Magic by Chaz.
The event will end with a hot air balloon show and Improvable Cause live on stage. At the causeway over Buggs Island Lake will be the gathering of the boats and the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.
