Edinburg, Va. – April 24, 2012 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of broadband services for Internet, home phone and television, announces its sponsorship of the 34th annual Heart of Virginia Festival, held May 5, 2012, in downtown Farmville, Va. Often called “the best small-town festival in the world,” the Heart of Virginia Festival is a celebration of the arts, crafts, culture and music.

As a presenting sponsor, Shentel will have a premium exhibit space for the duration of the festival, where it will showcase the latest offerings in high-speed Internet, home phone and digital television. Shentel representatives will be on hand throughout the day to answer customer questions, help attendees sign up for services, and offer giveaways. Additionally, visitors are invited to have their picture taken with the Shentel “03” racecar and driver Eric Ellington of Farmville.

Willy Pirtle, VP of sales and marketing, Shentel, said, “For over three decades, the Heart of Virginia Festival has been a staple event for people all over the state of Virginia. It is Shentel’s pleasure to be a part of this much-anticipated festival that many of our customers enjoy year after year. And, because customer service is at the heart of our organization, Shentel encourages festival attendees to stop by our booth to learn more about our services, play some games with us, and learn why switching to Shentel is as easy as pie.”

Held annually on the first Saturday of May, the Heart of Virginia Festival features arts, crafts, food, live entertainment, an antique car show, a 10-K run/5-K walk, and children’s activities. For more information, visit www.heartofvirginia.org.
