Shentel Rolls Out New and Improved Services in Salem, W.Va.

Beginning April 24, customers in the Salem, W.Va., area can receive faster Internet, Home Phone, and over 190 digital cable TV channels

Edinburg, Va. – April 25, 2012 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of broadband services for Internet, home phone and television, today announced that it has completed upgrades in the Salem, W.Va., area. Now, Shentel subscribers can receive faster high-speed Internet, home phone service, and improved digital TV with an array of new channels. 

 Beginning April 24, customers can opt for the following Shentel services:

  • Faster Internet, at speeds up to 25 mbps.
  • Premium Home Phone with two calling plans to choose from – unlimited local calling and unlimited nationwide long-distance.
  • Enhanced cable TV with more than 190 channels – up to 43 available in high-definition –and digital video recording (DVR) capabilities.
  • “Triple Play” option for combining Shentel’s services into one, convenient bill that fits any customer’s needs and budget.

Willy Pirtle, VP of sales and marketing, Shentel, said, “Making an ongoing effort to bring the latest in Internet, phone and television technology to our service areas is a vital part of Shentel’s commitment to our customers. Pirtle invites Salem area customers to the Salem Depot on May 11 for a Shentel-hosted celebration of the upgrade featuring bounce houses, hot dogs and snow cones, bluegrass music, and a live radio remote.
