Faster Internet Speeds, New Cable Channels, DVR Capabilities,

and Premium Home Phone Now Available

Edinburg, Va. – May 10, 2011 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of telephone, Internet and cable television services, announced that it will introduce new services and features for subscribers in Keysville, Va. Beginning May 10, 2011, customers can access faster Internet speeds, new cable channels – many in high-definition (HD) – and Shentel’s Premium Home Phone package.

Since purchasing JetBroadband in July 2010, Shentel has been working to update and enhance Keysville’s cable network to bring customers the latest in telecommunications technology. Now, subscribers can surf the web with speeds 15mbps, and select from three tiers of cable channels that include both new digital and analog channels, an interactive on-screen guide, and more than 50 HD channels for improved picture quality. Keysville customers can also enhance their TV-viewing experience with Shentel’s digital video recorder (DVR) allowing them to digitally record, pause and rewind live TV as well as record two shows at the same time. Additionally, Shentel’s Premium Home Phone service is available with two calling plans to choose from: unlimited local calling and unlimited nationwide long-distance.

Now that Shentel’s Internet, cable TV, and phone are available in Keysville, customers can opt for Shentel’s “Better Bundles,” and combine services in one convenient bill that fits their needs and budget.

Christopher Kyle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Shentel, said, “Over the past several months, Shentel has worked hard to upgrade the former JetBroadband area so that our newest subscribers can receive reliable and cost-effective services that meet Shentel’s high standards. We hope our Keysville customers will enjoy our high-speed Internet, new cable channels, and Shentel’s latest offering, Home Phone.”
