Telecommunications company supports nonprofit’s 2011 Skills and Conditioning Camp, July 11-14; Registration available for children ages 7-13

Edinburg, Va. – June 22, 2011 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of telephone, Internet and cable television services, has teamed up with Kids & Pros, Inc. to bring the 2011 Skills and Conditioning Youth Football Camp to the Lynchburg area. The camp will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., July 11-14, at Jefferson Forest High School, and is open to all youth, ages 7-13.

Kids & Pros, a nonprofit organization founded in 2002, aims to use athletic activity to enhance skills and character in children/youth. Each day, the camp will feature instruction on basic skill fundamentals, position-specific training and character-building lessons – all presented by former and current NFL players, local coaches, and certified trainers. Former NFL players scheduled to participate include former Green Bay Packer Eric Matthews; Kenny Lewis of the New York Jets; Chris Slade, former New England Patriot who also played for the University of Virginia; and Donald Smith and Albert Jennings, both from the Canadian Football League. The camp is safe and non-contact.

Buddy Curry, Kids & Pros co-founder and former linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, said, “We are excited to have Shentel as our title sponsor for our first-ever Lynchburg camp. Kids & Pros looks forward to giving local children the opportunity not only to improve their football skills, but hear inspiring stories, first-hand, from our staff of former NFL players who will equip them with life lessons for both on and off the field.”

Christopher Kyle, vice president of sales and marketing, Shentel, said, “Shentel is proud to support Kids & Pros, as the organization holds its camp in Lynchburg. Kids & Pros is community-minded, bringing a unique football program that helps our youth build skills and character.”

As the title sponsor, Shentel will be providing scholarships to 20 young people in the Lynchburg/Rustburg area who could not afford to attend camp otherwise. “We wish all campers a great, memorable experience,” Kyle added.
