Shentel Celebrates New Store, Improved Services in Bedford, Va.

Event to feature food, local dignitaries, giveaways and a grand prize drawing for a flat-screen HDTV

Edinburg, Va. – Aug. 2, 2011 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN), an established provider of telephone, Internet and cable television services, announces the grand opening of its new location in Bedford. To showcase the store and highlight improved services for the area, Shentel will host a celebration featuring free food, prizes, giveaways, appearances by local dignitaries, and a live radio broadcast. Previously located on Industrial Avenue, the new Bedford store has moved to the Peaksview Shopping Center on Longwood Avenue.

Since June, Shentel subscribers have been able to access faster, more reliable Internet (up to 15 mbps) and improved Home Phone service. Beginning Aug. 2, television customers in the Bedford area have a new channel lineup which includes double the number of High-Definition channels including ESPNU HD, Lifetime HD, FX and Bravo HD.

What: Shentel’s Grand Opening Celebration of new Bedford retail store

When: Fri., Aug. 12, 2011

  • 9 a.m. - Ribbon cutting ceremony with local dignitaries, members of the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and Shentel representatives.
  • 11 a.m. - Celebration featuring food, giveaways, prizes, and a live radio broadcast with morning DJ Brett Sharp of Star Country 94.9. Prizes will be drawn during the live broadcast.
  • 5 p.m. - The event will conclude with a grand prize drawing for a 32-inch Sony Flat-screen HDTV. Registrants do not have to be present to win.
